August 18 "We're going to reconstruct," they promised. And they will deliver (iA).(Just had to post this)
And this is why Hizbullah is loved and supported by so many:
(Full Article Here: Hezbollah Leads Work to Rebuild, Gaining Stature ) In his victory speech on Monday night, Hezbollah’s leader, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, offered money for “decent and suitable furniture” and a year’s rent on a house to any Lebanese who lost his home in the month-long war. “Completing the victory,” he said, “can come with reconstruction. While the Israelis began their withdrawal, hundreds of Hezbollah members spread over dozens of villages across southern Lebanon began cleaning, organizing and surveying damage. Men on bulldozers were busy cutting lanes through giant piles of rubble. Roads blocked with the remnants of buildings are now, just a day after a cease-fire began, fully passable. In Sreifa, a Hezbollah official said the group would offer an initial $10,000 to residents to help pay for the year of rent, to buy new furniture and to help feed families.
In Bint Jbail, Hezbollah ambulances — large, new cars with flashing lights on the top — ferried bodies of fighters to graves out of mountains of rubble. Hezbollah’s reputation as an efficient grass-roots social service network — as opposed to the Lebanese government, regarded by many here as sleek men in suits doing well — was in evidence everywhere. Young men with walkie-talkies and clipboards were in the battered Shiite neighborhoods on the southern edge of Bint Jbail, taking notes on the extent of the damage. Sheik Nasrallah said in his speech that “the brothers in the towns and villages will turn to those whose homes are badly damaged and help rebuild them. “Today is the day to keep up our promises,” he said. “All our brothers will be in your service starting tomorrow.” Hezbollah men also traveled door to door checking on residents and asking them what help they needed. Although Hezbollah is a Shiite organization, Sheik Nasrallah’s message resounded even with a Sunni Muslim, Ghaleb Jazi, 40, who works at the oil storage plant at Jiyeh, 15 miles south of Beirut. It was bombed by the Israelis and spewed pollution northward into the Mediterranean. This all makes me very happy. People who promise good things to those who are suffering and follow through with their promises. The people of Libnaan are in my prayers; I hope the reconstruction efforts are quick and successful bi ithn illah. Indeed, raaji3 raaji3 yit3ammar raaji3 Libnaan! I knew it all along :). Alhumdulilah.
August 12 Some 'hmmm!' articles.Hmmm:
"The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s publishing arm has released a book that says President Bush organized New York's Sept. 11 attacks.
The decision by the 160-year-old Westminster John Knox Press, the trade and academic publishing imprint of the Presbyterian Publishing Corp., to attribute the attacks on the World Trade Center brings into the U.S. religious mainstream a conspiracy theory long held by the world's jihadists. In 'Christian Faith and the Truth behind 9/11: A Call to Reflection and Action,' author David Ray Griffin calls the United States the world's 'chief embodiment of demonic power, says he initially scoffed at 9/11 conspiracy theories. But after investigating he concluded that the Twin Towers were brought down by controlled demolition, military personnel were given stand-down orders not to intercept hijacked flights and the 9/11 Commission, ostensibly created to uncover the truth behind the events of 9/11, 'simply ignored evidence' that the administration was involved in the attacks." (The Truth Will Set You Free) AND: Government Foreknowledge of the latest "terror plots":
August 05 Unutmak....and random stuff on the Lebanese CrisisUnutmak istiyorum, ama imkânsız. Because you can't just make yourself forget about everything, however easy and tempting it may be. On a similar note: "The stakes are high for Hizbullah, but it seems it can count on an unprecedented swell of public support that cuts across sectarian lines.According to a poll released by the Beirut Center for Research and Information, 87 percent of Lebanese support Hizbullah's fight with Israel, a rise of 29 percent on a similar poll conducted in February. More striking, however, is the level of support for Hizbullah's resistance from non-Shiite communities. Eighty percent of Christians polled supported Hizbullah along with 80 percent of Druze and 89 percent of Sunnis." (ParaPundit) Cool, alhumdulilah. Y'know what I love the most though in our media's coverage of the crisis? Seriously; it's when they tell you (in horrified voices) how "the rockets Hizbullah is firing into Israel are made in Iran!" !!! No WAY !!!! Really?! Wow, it's kind of like Israel's weapons are all made in the USA !!!!! With my tax dollars !! Wouldn'tchya know it. By the way: "The type of missiles being fired by Hizbullah at Israeli cities cannot be fired from within houses, mosques, hospitals or even UN facilities as has been suggested by the IDF. Due to the massive "back-blast" caused by the rocket launchers of these missiles, they can only be fired from open ground. To fire them from within a building would result in the instant death of the missile crew and probable destruction of the missile before launch. Most of the missiles are truck-mounted and are fired - on open ground - from the backs of flat-bedded trucks or larger four-wheel-drive vehicles." says Tom Clonan. (read more hre: Saint Louis Independent Media Center). Yet most Lebanese deaths and casualties have been civilians, not guerillas standing out on open ground firing Katyusha rockets. Deliberate targeting of civilians? I'd think so. Chavez takes a stand against Israel, saying that it is an imperialist tool of America. Believable? I'd say so. : '"The Israeli offensive against the Palestinians and Lebanon is an aggression that we feel targets us also. It is an unjustified aggression that is being carried out in the style of (Adolf) Hitler, in a Fascist fashion," he said, referring to the leader of Nazi Germany. "They (Israelis) are doing what Hitler did against the Jews. They are killing innocent children and whole families," he said in the remarks dubbed in Arabic. On Thursday, Chavez said he ordered the withdrawal of Venezuela's ambassador to Israel in protest.' Aaand Israel's fighting with Hizbullah is not really about self defense *sigh*.. it's about annexation, stupid !!! "We have no intention of extending our operation more than 70 kilometers north of our borders with Lebanon," stated Lieutenant-Colonel Hemi Lini on the Lebanese border on July 17, one week after the war's outbreak. This would put Israel, assuming for a moment that the Israel Defense Forces' operations prove ultimately successful, in control of the Litani River, thus fulfilling Israel's founding fathers' dream, stretching back to Chaim Weizmann, head of the World Zionist Organization, who in 1919 declared the river "essential to the future of the Jewish national home". Consequently, contrary to the pro-Israel pundits' reassurances that this war is not about occupation, all the tangible signs indicate the exact opposite, ie, the distinct possibility of a "war of acreage" whereby Israel would expand its territory, acquire a new strategic depth, and simultaneously address its chronic water shortage by exploiting the Litani. " ( Kaveh Afrasiabi from Asia Times Online) Yet more people in the US take Israel's stance against Hizbullah and the rest of the Arab world..more and more Evangelists are expressing blind sympathy and loyalty to Israel and its motives, whatever those motives may be. Basically, we're suckers for Israel; is what it comes down to. Crude? Maybe. But then so is the US-Israeli relationship, eh. To end: We...are not really free if we can't control our own government and its policies. And we will never do that if we remain ignorant. – Charley Reese I have to agree with that. ------------ I color coded this whole post. You're welcome. Peace and shawerma grease. July 26 Bint Jbeil.Aaaaaaand Bint Jbeil is hit hard by Israel. Well of course, self-defense, mish haik. Akeeed. Tab3an.
More civilians die... even more get wounded; burned, scarred for life...Israel has been using phosphorous in their bombs. My un-scientific opinion, formed simply by watching different news channels coverage of the recent bombings, is that the phosphorous only seems to burn human skin, and not even the clothing of the victims. This shows that behind these bombs lies an intense study of human skin by Israel; wonder why.
As'al Allah swt that my friends and their families in Bint Jbeil and all of Lebanon are 'ok'. Of course, you can't possibly be 'ok' but you know what I mean.
Wa la ilaha illah Allah, la 7awla wa la qoowata illa billah.
I'm absolutely sick of it all.
Makhnoo'a.

PS. Mark Twain kinda sucks. A lot. Ugh.
PSS. (or PPS?). One of my Saturday-School students was in the Daily today, carrying a sign protesting US aid to Israel. He'll laugh like crazy when I show him the picture iA.
July 13 Lebanon/Israel.I want to scream and yell. I want to smash the TV and punch our stupid media that is completely skewed in its coverage of the looming war in Lebanon. I want to shake the world, specifically the Arab leaders, and I want to do something, anything to stop the dying, the terror, the destruction, everything. But I can't, and I know it. I also want to cry; a hopefully normal but pretty futile reaction to the world's events. There are other things I want to do, but I won't list them here. I'm mad, I'm angry, I'm sad, and even scared. Scared for people; my friends in Lebanon and Syria, for example. Innah lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji3oon. Lebanon has been through a lot, and will go through anything that comes its way with great bravery, I'm sure. History has left Lebanon wounded, and scarred for life (!); more wounds and more scars will simply make it more weathered, stronger, I think. As for Palestine, Israel's near-60 year occupation of its land and people, Israel's imprisonment of hundreds of thousands of civilian prisoners, most of them innocent, has only made Palestine ready for more... occupation and destruction is everyday life for Palestinians, so more will only bring more grief, more anger, more hurt, and more sighs at the utter hypocrisy and treachery of Arab and Muslim leaders around the world. As for Israel ... I choose not to speak for Israel. Israel has enough people to talk for it in today's US and European media. I have the option of choice of what to write about (to an extent!), a petty option, perhaps, but an option nonetheless. And I will take that option. I wish I had Al Jazeera Live. Maybe then I'd be spared from having to listen to CNN's idiotic "Hizbullah 101" propaganda. --- rant. rave. type. forget. ah, this wonderous internet that makes it oh-so-easy to simply move on from and forget even the most horrific events. rant. rave. type. close window. move on. forget. --- July 05 Soccernomics : The World Cup and Participants' Economies- from Reuters:
"The British-based Center for Economics and Business Research estimated the World Cup will provide a consumption boost worth the equivalent of close to $25 billion, most of it netted by Europe, and primarily by 2006 tournament host Germany.
Europe’s large economies need to become bigger spenders to keep the world on an even keel, which is where the “pick-me-up” of ABN AMRO’s soccernomics theory kicks in. As this year’s host, Germany’s huge but long-dormant economy gains directly from investment in stadiums and infrastructure, floods of tourists and a month of planet-wide publicity. Italians would enjoy the soul-lifting experience of victory, which would also lift spending by consumers, and in turn growth. That is a prize Germany needs too, because pessimism and unwillingness among German consumers to spend has been the Achilles’ heel of the German economy for years. If Europe spent more, ABN AMRO argues, it would import more US goods and help trim a huge US trade deficit.
Asia, where growth is already stronger, might overheat if it snatched a World Cup win, but it could do with an alternative to investing most of its money in dollars, namely euros. A Latin American win would make little difference to the world economy. “So, from the perspective of the need for balanced world growth, a European country should win the World Cup this year,” ABN AMRO said. “It’s not that soccer turns recession into boom but if it’s timed right it (victory) can be crucial,” said Kalshoven. Not everyone agrees, however, that the benefits of the World Cup go much beyond the host country, big business and the soccer industry itself, including hugely paid stars such as Zinedine Zidane, who led France to victory on home soil in 1998. French consumer confidence hit an all-time high after that victory over Brazil, but the lasting impact is less clear-cut. Nicolas Bouzou of the Xerfi economics consultancy says that the feelgood factor is good for people that sell TVs and World Cup memorabilia, but has little lasting impact in terms of overall economic output, or gross domestic product (GDP). Firstly, he argued, most of the flat-screen TVs people are snapping up are imports, worsening France’s trade balance. Secondly, France’s economy was already starting to boom in 1998, so interpreting the strong consumption and GDP data for that year as a World Cup spinoff would be mistaken. “There’s only one lasting winner really when the national team wins the world cup — football,” says Bouzou. "
Wow. To think that European economists might find a way to argue that a European country should win the World Cup ?! Wow... And though Asia might overheat with a win, and a Latin American win would make no difference to the world economy, these economists don't even (need to) care enough to think about the effects of an African win. I think an Economist joke would be appropriate here:
A mathematician, an accountant and an economist apply for the same job. The interviewer calls in the mathematician and asks "What do two plus two equal?" The mathematician replies "Four." The interviewer asks "Four, exactly?" The mathematician looks at the interviewer incredulously and says "Yes, four, exactly." Then the interviewer calls in the accountant and asks the same question "What do two plus two equal?" The accountant says "On average, four - give or take ten percent, but on average, four." Then the interviewer calls in the economist and poses the same question "What do two plus two equal?" The economist gets up, locks the door, closes the shade, sits down next to the interviewer and says "What do you want it to equal?"
If you are an economist reading this post: please feel free to get offended if you want. Otherwise, it is just a joke.

Saddam pleads innocent, trial adjournsOusted Iraqi leader asks judge, ‘Who are you,’ scuffles with guards
MSNBC News Services
Updated: 1:26 p.m. ET Oct. 19, 2005 BAGHDAD, Iraq - A judge on Wednesday adjourned the trial of Saddam Hussein and seven co-defendants until Nov. 28, after Saddam pleaded innocent to murder and other charges, questioned the court’s authority and scuffled with guards. The main reason for the adjournment was because some 30 to 40 witnesses had been too scared to show up, the presiding judge said. “They were too scared to be public witnesses,” Rizgar Mohammed Amin told Reuters. “We’re going to work on this issue for the next sessions.” A secondary reason was that the defense had requested a three-month delay to review the evidence. Raad Jouhi, the investigating magistrate who prepared the case, told a news conference after the first session that the five-week adjournment was a “reasonable” response to the defense request. The first session lasted just three hours, during which presiding judge Rizgar Mohammed Amin read the defendants their rights and the charges against them — which also include torture, forced expulsions and illegal imprisonment in a case involving the massacre of nearly 150 Shiites in 1982. Amin then asked each for their plea. He started with the ousted dictator, saying “Mr. Saddam, go ahead. Are you guilty or innocent?” Saddam — holding a copy of the Quran he brought with him into the session and held throughout — replied quietly, "I said what I said. I am not guilty,” referring to his arguments earlier in the session. Amin read out the plea, “Innocent.” The confrontation later became physical. When a break was called, Saddam stood, smiling, and asked to step out of the room. When two guards tried to grab his arms to escort him out, he angrily shook them off. They tried to grab him again, and Saddam struggled to free himself. Saddam and the guards shoved each other and yelled for about a minute. It ended with Saddam getting his way, and he was allowed to walk independently, with the two guards behind him, out of the room for the break. First criminal trial of Arab leader “I preserve my constitutional rights as the president of Iraq,” Saddam said. “I do not recognize the body that has authorized you and I don’t recognize this aggression. What is based on injustice is unjust ... I do not respond to this so-called court, with all due respect.” Amin, a Kurd, tried to get Saddam to formally identify himself, but Saddam refused. After several moments, he sat down. Amin later read the charges against Saddam and his co-defendants, advising them they face possible execution if convicted in a 1982 massacre of nearly 150 Shiites in Dujail, north of Baghdad, after a failed attempt on the former dictator’s life. Saddam and his co-defendants — top officials and lower civil servants from his Baathist regime — were called in one by one into the courtroom. After sitting, Saddam greeted his co-defendants, saying “Peace be upon you,” sitting next to co-defendant Awad Hamed al-Bandar, former head of Iraq’s Revolutionary Court. The other defendants include Saddam’s former intelligence chief Barazan Ibrahim, former vice president Taha Yassin Ramadan and other lower-level Baathist civil servants. Most were wearing traditional Arab robes and they complained that they were not allowed to have headdresses, so court officials brought out red headdresses for them. Many Sunni Arabs consider it shameful to appear in public without the checkered scarf, tied by a cord around the forehead. Ramadan also refused to identify himself to the judge. “I repeat what President Saddam Hussein has said,” he added. The other defendants agreed to state their names. Irony of trial setting The trial is taking place in the marble building that once served as the National Command Headquarters of his feared Baath Party. The building in Baghdad’s Green Zone — the heavily fortified district where Iraq’s government, parliament and the U.S. Embassy are located — was ringed with 10-foot blast walls and U.S. and Iraqi troops. Several Humvees and at least one tank were deployed outside, and U.S. soldiers led sniffer dogs around the grounds, looking for explosives. The identities of judges have been a tightly held secret to ensure their safety, though Amin’s name was revealed on Wednesday just before the trial began.
Many Iraqis who watched the trial eagerly awaited the chance to see the man who ruled Iraq with unquestioned and total power held to justice. But across the Tigris River in the mainly Sunni Arab district of Azamiyah, some were embittered over the trial of Saddam, whose regime was dominated by Sunni Arabs who have now lost their power. “Saddam is the lesser of evils,” said Sahab Awad Maaruf, an engineer, comparing Saddam to the current Shiite-Kurdish led government. “He’s the only legitimate leader for Iraqis.” There are also fears of attacks by insurgents — who are thought to include members of Saddam’s regime — to disrupt the trial. ‘Victors’ justice’ fair? The court is also operating not only under its own rules — laid out when the court was created in 2003 while Iraq was still run by American administrators — but also by a 1971 Saddam-era criminal law that some have criticized as not up to international standards. That law says the judges can issue a guilty verdict if they are “satisfied” by the evidence — seen as lower standard of proof than “convinced beyond a reasonable doubt.” Saddam’s defense lawyer Khalil al-Dulaimi said Tuesday he would challenge the special tribunal’s competence to try the case, arguing that Saddam remains the legitimate president and the court is illegal, because it was created under U.S. occupation. Saddam was ousted after U.S.-led forces swept into Iraq in March 2003 and marched in to Baghdad. He fled and was on the run until American forces found in him hiding in a cellar in a rural area outside his hometown of Tikrit, Iraq on Dec. 13, 2003. He has been held since in a U.S. detention facility at Baghdad International Airport. Other trials depend on verdict If a death sentence is issued in the Dujail case, it is unclear whether it would be carried out regardless of whether Saddam is involved in other trials. He can appeal a Dujail verdict, but if a conviction and sentence are upheld, the sentence must be carried out within 30 days. A stay could be granted to allow other trials to proceed. The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this report.

Hello All, In the midst of the anti-Arab/Muslim hysteria which is sweeping the world, it is easy to become despondent and lose hope that anything you do will make a difference. If you have felt like this lately, then you HAVE to read this story. I got it from a fellow activist and it was like medicine to my soul because it reminded me (yet again) of the power of God to change people's hearts---even the heart of a former enemy. The heroine in this story is truly admirable in her courage and determination to stand up for the truth against those who are trying to silence her. Help her spread her message by sharing this story with everyone on your list. Thank you.
________________________________________________________ http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/world/2005/0728/1139576626FR28PALESTINE.html Author no longer 'in love with the Zionist narrative' MIDDLE EAST: Once committed to Israeli policy, Susan Nathan now champions the Palestinian cause. by Deaglلn de Bréadْn The most accurate description of Susan Nathan comes from herself: "What I do is that I live what comes out of my mouth." She is the only Jew among 25,000 Arabs in the northern Israeli town of Tamra and has taken up the cause of the Palestinians who remained inside the borders of Israel after the state was set up in 1948. Her harshest critics could not say she has chosen a comfortable path. Friends and even some relatives have turned against her, she says, but she is standing by her controversial claim that the Palestinians in Israel are victims of apartheid-style discrimination and mistreatment. Now she's written a book to tell her story and make her case, "The Other Side of Israel: My Journey Across the Jewish-Arab Divide" (HarperCollins). The writing style is direct and simple: she wanted "Joe Bloggs on the street" to be able to read it and say, "I didn't understand that it was like that". In person, too, Nathan is direct and to the point. As far as she is concerned, the issue itself is a simple one. Her Jewish co-religionists took the land from the Palestinians, who have been severely oppressed and treated as second-class citizens ever since. She only came to this conclusion in her 50s, having been an ardent Zionist all her life. It took a long time for the penny to drop but there is now no self-doubt or hesitation. Nathan says that initially she was "brainwashed and in love with the Zionist narrative". Very few non-Jewish people understood the power of Zionist propaganda. "You are brought up to believe that you are outside of society, that you are forever persecuted, that Israel is your safe haven . . . It is like being part of a cult." The Zionist claim that Israel exists for the salvation of the Jews in case of another Holocaust was "a very cynical misuse of people's fears and the Holocaust". She is the daughter of a Harley Street physician. Her father, Samuel Levy, studied in South Africa and then Trinity College Dublin in the late 1920s and early 1930s. "He used to spend Friday night and all Saturday with the family of Chaim Herzog [future president of Israel, whose father was Ireland's chief rabbi]." The family came from the Baltic region. Fleeing anti-Semitic pogroms, they made their way to Odessa on the Black Sea. Family lore has it that they wanted to go to Hamburg but the ship was full so they had to sail for South Africa instead. "And that's how we escaped the Holocaust." Born in 1949, she grew up in South Africa and England. She got married, reared a family and got divorced when she was 50. Initially she was an avid supporter of the Israeli state. Having worked as a teacher and HIV/Aids therapist, Nathan decided at last to realise her lifelong Zionist dream of emigrating to Israel. "I applied under the Right of Return," she says. Under Israeli law, anyone with a Jewish grandparent can emigrate to Israel and become a citizen. "It was a wonderful homecoming. I believed the Zionist ideology, I really believed this was 'a land without a people for a people without a land'. Palestinians were not on the map for me in any shape or form." She was offered "a very good job" teaching business English in Tel Aviv. Around the time of her arrival, the latest intifada rebellion erupted at the end of 2000. She saw "the wonderful achievements of our forces" being extolled on Israeli television. "I really fell for that line," she says. But then she became very ill and had to be hospitalised and this brought her into close regular contact with Palestinians. She began to ask herself, "Where am I in this society, what is my role?" She became involved with a Palestinian-Jewish NGO dealing with August 05 "Hypothetical Stuff"I wanted to share a "hypothetical" scenario written by Jehanzeb with you all ..it relates to my claims about the London bombings and 9/11 being staged ...(Yeah, I know, I still haven't written about 9/11 being staged, but hopefully soon, soon)...Anyways, I now present:
Hypothetical Stuff
by Jehanzeb
Islam - second largest religion in the world. Also the fastest growing religion in the world.
From an internet source: "Among every four humans in the world, one of them is Muslim. Muslims have increased by over 235 percent in the last fifty years up to nearly 1.6 billion. By comparison, Christians have increased by only 47 percent, Hinduism, 117 percent, and Buddhism by 63 percent. Islam is the second largest religious group in France, Great Britain and USA" It is projected that by the year 2025, 30% of the world population will be Muslim, while 25% will be Christian (again, this is PROJECTED). The Irish playwright, George Bernard Shaw, once said: "I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today." Malcolm X, when he left the religion of Elijah Muhammad, he became a True Muslim. Spoke with many Muslim world leaders as well as leaders of African nations. He aspired to be a successful preacher of Islam in America and he wanted to press charges against the U.N. with the support of African nations. He said "America needs to understand Islam for this is the one religion that eliminates the race problem." Malcolm was assassinated by whom? If it were the Black Muslims, then why is it still such a mystery? Why was Malcolm followed by the CIA overseas? Why was he asked to leave France? Who stopped him from making a speech in France? Elijah Muhammad didn't have that kind of power. EXCLUSIVE BEHIND THE SCENES LOOK AT THE SECRET WORLD ORDER BIG BROTHER: Hmm. Islam is still growing. Just look at the numbers! Agent Gray, what do you suggest? AGENT GRAY’S THEORY: Frame the Muslim people; use the media to vilify them and their religion (this includes television, radio, film, music, books, etc.), go to war with Muslim countries – we need the oil anyway - less people will convert to Islam. 9/11. Shot A: Planes crashing into buildings. Shot B: Innocent Americans crying. Shot C: Palestinian people dancing in the street. Equals: Plants the idea in people's minds that all Muslims are happy that this happened, therefore people will learn to hate Muslims and Islam. There is another word for it. Brainwashing. AGENT GRAY: Blame it on the man we trained: Osama bin Laden. Yeah, bomb his country. Tell people we’re looking for him. BIG BROTHER: But our technology is so advanced, we can track people’s body temperature and we can surely locate a man we trained. AGENT GRAY: Who cares, people don’t know that. BIG BROTHER: …. AGENT GRAY: Now the U.S. has control in South Asia and since we are stationed in that part of the world, we can more conveniently move forward to Iraq, but hey wait… we need an excuse. Ah ha, WMDs! Yes. Even if they don't have it, people already know Saddam is a nasty guy. BIG BROTHER: Good work Agent Gray, what do we do now since we’re in Iraq? AGENT GRAY: Merry Christmas Israel!! (Uhh…even though you Jews don’t celebrate it…) Ship the oil off to them. BIG BROTHER: Palestinians and Israelis are killing each other. We promised the Palestinians a Muslim state a long time ago, what about them? AGENT GRAY: Hehe, yeah, “promised” them. Make sure our puppet, Bush, doesn’t negotiate with Yasir Arafat because he’s a Terrorist. BIG BROTHER: But Sharon wiped out an entire Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. He’s as much of a terrorist as Arafat. AGENT GRAY: Don’t worry, no one knows about that. BIG BROTHER: Right. AGENT GRAY: See, I have succeeded! Hate crimes against Muslim people are on the rise! Palestinians are blowing up innocent Israelis; Iraqi insurgents are killing U.S. soldiers. More people are sympathizing with the Americans and Israelis! Look at the media, listen to Bill O’Reilly! We have created ISLAMOPHOBIA. A continual, abnormal, and irrational fear of a monotheistic religion characterized by the acceptance of the doctrine of submission to God and to Muhammad as the chief and last prophet of God. BIG BROTHER: But wait a minute… uhh Agent Gray; more people have converted to Islam AFTER 9/11. Islam is STILL growing! How is that possible? AGENT GRAY: uhhhhhh…… BIG BROTHER: You’re fired Agent Gray. Agent Stripe, what do you suggest? AGENT STRIPE: Hmm... who is our ally again? Oh yeah, the British. New York was a huge city, let’s choose London this time! The future is yet unknown. Big brother is still writing his script. Remember, this is all hypothetical. ANYWAY, that's what is on the table, so make whatever you want of it. Use your imagination. *applause applause..someone shouting "encore encore"*
Hope you don't mind me posting this Jehanzeb July 25 Sharm il Sheikh Bombings and My Most Recent ProjectHey everybody, I just got out of a meeting with one of my Political Science professors and am quite overwhelmed...He asked me if I would be interested in helping him with a research project on how some countries frame their counterterrorist policies, and how those counterterrorist policies compare with their substantive policies. It sounded like a very interesting topic of research, the only drawback is that it will take a lot of time to complete..it looks like the research will go on into the academic year, and I don't want to have to divert my attention away from studying to work on a research project. Inshallah it will go well though, make du3aa for me ok ?
Also, a great reader "Race_mylife" asked if I would write about the Sharm il Sheikh bombings. Sure thing ! I was gonna do so anyways, so your request just sped up the process :)
As we all know, Egypt has been seeing a great change and protest against martial law (which is currently the only means of enforcing law in Egypt)..the Egyptians are calling it "Kifayah" (meaning "enough", though the letters of the word Kifayah might be an acronym for something else). Egyptians want to get rid of martial law and return to civil law, and the US has been pushing Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to do so, and this included holding an election. Now, Mubarak complained to the US that if elections were held, Muslim extremist parties would win the majority of the vote and would come to power (of course, this would be bad for Mubarak because it would mean that his power would be taken away), however, the US didn't heed his complaints and insisted that an election be held so as "to begin the spread of democracy and to restore civil law to Egypt". So, Mubarak is faced with a dilemma: either listen to Egypt's great friend and ally, the US, and hold elections, hence risking the fact that he might lose power and control of Egypt OR refrain from holding electiopns and anger the US and lose its support and friendship. So what is Mubarak to do ?! AHA ! Stage a terrorist attack and claim that it was a Muslim extremist suicide bomber, hence convincing the US of the dangers of holding an election where people like "the bombers" could come to power, and therefore, Mubarak would be able to stay in power, just as he likes it. End of Story. Simply put, but pretty disgusting eh?! What has this world come to ? Sometimes, I really don't know.
P.S I will reply to all of your comments on the July 7th bombings post soon inshallah..bear with me, I am low on spare time at the moment. Thanks. July 23 July 7th London BombingsOk, finally, my first post on politics for quite a long time...so, London bombings...let's see. When I heard the news of the bombings and read some stuff on the internet, I got to thinking "something as fishy as 9/11 is going on here"...as I read further, several questions formed in my mind:
How is it that paper documents can survive bomb blasts that rip apart steel and people?
Why did the "suspects" take credit cards along on a suicide mission? I didn't know Visa Cards were good in Paradise or Hell !!!
Why and how did former Israeli prime minister get a warning to stay away from a place where he was to speak, located above one of the blast sites?
Why did the "suspects" leave a car full of explosives in a parking lot in Luton, 30 miles from London? Did they expect someone to find the car and put the explosives to good use?! I don't think so.
How did these young men obtain military grade explosives? And how could their families not have noticed anything if the men's houses were full of the explosives, so full in fact to warrant the evacuation of 600 people from the area ?
Why is it that someone would blow himself up, for no known reason, being pretty recently married with a 14 month old baby daughter, and living a humble and seemingly satisfying life (I am referring to Mohammad Sidique Khan, 30-year-old primary school teaching assistant who worked at Hillside Primary School in Dewsbury as a "learning mentor" with the children of immigrant families who had just arrived in Britain. Married in 2001, Khan was also involved in the community-run Hamara Healthy Living Centre in Beeston, and worked at its youth outreach project, the Hamara Youth Access Point (HYAP) at 73 Lodge Lane.
I really couldn't find plausible answers to any of these questions, except for one: The London Bombings of July 7th, 2005 were, like I believe 9/11 was, staged. Staged by who? The British government, and very likely in correspondence with the US government. Why ? Why would a government want to kill its own citizens and accuse innocent people? To contribute to people's belief in the necessity of the so-called "War on Terror", because the War on Terror allows the United States (and those who help "wage the war on terror") expand and overwhelm the rest of the world, spreading both physically and ideologically, and creating an empire. The American Empire, as put by Andrew Bacevich. To quote the words of David Griffin, a professor emeritus at the Claremont School of Theology who both authored or edited over two dozen books, including "God and Religion in the Postmodern World," "Religion and Scientific Naturalism," and "The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11" in his speech titled 9/11 and the American Empire: How Should Religious People Respond?:
"... [W]e can see through the claim that the US' project of creating the first truly global empire is a benevolent or at least benign enterprise. ...[W]e can fully grasp the extent to which this project is propelled by fanaticism based on a deeply perverted value system only when we realize that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 were orchestrated by our own leaders--and that they did this to provide the justification, the fear, and the funding for the so-called war on terror, which would be used as a pretext for enlarging the empire." **
And it seems to me that since Britain is in on the "War on Terror" with the US and has firmly maintained that it will support the US in its efforts to spread freedom and democracy around the world and fight terrorists, it comes as no surprise that the British government very likely staged the London bombings, just as I believe the Bush administration staged the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon.
And so, either give me plausible answers to my very simple questions, or really consider my point of view. Look at the bigger picture, at all that has been happening over the course of the past ten years or so, and the (staged) London bombings of July 7th 2005 seem to fit nicely into the rest of the picture.
To end with a bit of humor, check out this article on how to stage a terrorist attack in ten easy steps.
How the Government Staged the London Bombings in Ten Easy Steps Paul Joseph Watson/Prison Planet | July 13 2005
Ten Step Method To Staging a Terrorist Attack 1) Hire a Crisis Management firm to set up an exercise that parallels the terrorist attack you are going to carry out. Have them run the exercise at the precise locations and at the very same time as the attack. If at any stage of the attack your Arabs get caught, tell the police it was part of an exercise. 2) Hire four Arabs and tell them they're taking part in an important exercise to help defend London from terrorist attacks. Strap them with rucksacks filled with deadly explosives. Tell the Arabs the rucksacks are dummy explosives and wouldn't harm a fly. 3) Tell four Arabs to meet up at London Underground and disperse, each getting on a different train. Make sure Arabs meet in a location where you can get a good mug shot of them all on CCTV which you can later endlessly repeat to drooling masses on television. 4) While four Arabs are in London, plant explosives in their houses in Leeds. Plant some explosives in one of their cars in Luton for the police to later discover. Remember that Qu'ran and flight manual in the hijackers' car? Ha ha, they fell for that one hook, line and sinker. No need to change tactics on this one. 5) Before the bombings take place, make sure you warn any of your buddies who are scheduled to be anywhere near where the bombs go off. If this gets leaked to the press, just deny it. 6) 4th Arab goes out partying in London night before and ends up getting out of bed late. No worries, the 9/11 'hijackers' did the same thing but that didn't cause us a big problem. 4th Arab catches bus to see if other Arabs are waiting for him. 4th Arab starts hearing about explosions in the London Underground. 4th Arab comes to the realization that this he is being set up and freaks out. 4th Arab starts fiddling in his rucksack. 4th Arab sets bomb off and is blown up. If you hired any additional Arabs and they also got wind of the set up, make sure there are GPS locators in the rucksacks so you can have police snipers ready to kill them before they can blow the whistle. 7) After the bombs go off, put out a story for over an hour that the explosions are a simple electrical fault. This gives you cover time to make sure the lazy bus Arab is dead and any other hired Arabs who reneged are also dead. Make sure any CCTV footage that doesn't support your official story is either seized or destroyed. 8) A few hours after the bombings, have one of your boys post an 'Al-Qaeda statement' claiming responsibility. Don't worry about the whole 'misreferencing the Qu'ran' thing, these idiots don't have the attention spans to figure it out. 9) After you have made sure that all the Arabs are dead and you are managing the story accordingly, wait for four days until the police piece together the story and find the explosives you planted in Leeds and in the car in Luton. Remember that Qu'ran and flight manual in the hijackers' car? Ha ha, they fell for that one hook, line and sinker. No need to change tactics this time either. The time delay will convince the gullible public that a real investigation is taking place. Create a background of the hired Arabs being militant Muslims. The drooling masses, as was the case with the '9/11 hijackers,' will ignore stories of neighbours saying they were the quiet, educated types who liked children and playing sports. BBC excerpt: One local resident described him as "a nice lad". "He liked to play football, he liked to play cricket. I'm shocked." Another resident said he was just a "normal kid" who played basketball and kicked a ball around. 10) Sit back and enjoy as Blair and his minions grandstand in front of television cameras about staying the course in the war on terror. The pay raise, extra agency funding, and power to strip more freedoms and liberties made the ten easy steps to staging a terrorist attack a worthwhile venture. The dozens of dead people were necessary collateral damage. This is a dirty war, we need to be less moral than the terrorists to defeat them. And that's how the government staged the bombings in ten easy steps. Granted, you can interchange different pieces of the puzzle. The bombers could be real terrorists that knew exactly what they were doing. All you would need to do is control the 'mastermind' behind the attack and make sure his boys carried out the job in the way you wanted. Voila.

June 15 Michael Jackson versus International NewsIs it possible that coverage of Michael Jackson's trial takes up more airtime than does international news? I am sick of what people call "the news" here...I turn on the TV in order to see what is going on in the world and what do I get? 15 minutes of some story about a family who got reunited with their puppy after two years of dreadful sorrow and tears thinking their dear pet had died somwhere. No offense to puppies or anything like that, but I mean COME ON !! I would really appreciate it if you could let me know what is happening in this world of ours..there is so much to cover, so much to show on the news about the world, but what do we get? Michael Jackson's trial, the story of the runaway bride, a woman who found a finger in her chili at Wendy's, Ronald McDonald as star guest on MSNBC one night..I could go on and on...but why bother? *sigh*...I am already used to finding my own way around obstacles..this is yet another obstacle..Google news will just have to do as a replacement for CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, KARE 11, EYEWTINESS 5, blah blah blah blah blah...*grumpy*...
May 26 Owen is in :(
The most ironic and annoying thing ?! The same party that is currently trying to get rid of the use of filibusters to obstruct and delay judicial action that might work against them (namely the current Republicans) is the party that was the most fervent user of the filibuster back in the civil rights days....*sigh*...we want things only when they serve our interests...democracy shemocracy..I would have a much easier life if I just kept my nose out of politics...but I can't do that
May 24 Offensive Church SignAstaghfarallah...take a look at this Church sign, placed on one of America's most frequently travelled highways..
Talk about religious intolerance...la 7awala wala qoowata illa billah...Rev. Creighton Lovelace, pastor of the church, is not apologizing for the display."I believe that it is a statement supporting the word of God and that it (the Bible) is above all and that any other religious book that does not teach Christ as savior and lord as the 66 books of the Bible teaches it, is wrong," said Lovelace. He also said he " knew that whenever we decided to put that sign up that there would be people who wouldn't agree with it, and there would be some that would, and so we just have to stand up for what's right." Such explicit intolerance of other people, cultures, and religion is sick..And they complain about Muslim anger..not surprising with things like this.. May 05 And so I turn to....
I've just been talking to a certain Algerianlass88 and she told me to post away any random ol' thing today...so ..I turned to..yep you guessed it : POLITICS !!! ahem...what else ?! So listen to this crap: Bush apparently doesn't like the fact that Belarus is still the "last remaining dictatorship in Europe" and has decided to take it upon himself to fix this disturbing fact. "We will work with you, countries in the neighborhood, the free countries in the world, to insist for the free elections,'' the president said. (lol, note that Europe has suddenly become a neighborhood!!!) Sooooo.....next elections in Belarus are going to be free and fair, right ? .... Riiiggghhhhtttt....okkaaayy sounds good ....*sarcasm sarcasm*...I knew we could always count on Mr Bush to make the 'hood a better place for all of us residents....ahhh, the joys of having a safe neighborhood...whatever... I have no energy for this right now..as some people could tell you, I am in severe pain at the moment, with no apparent cure on hand...inshallah khair.... maybe I could complain to Bush?!
April 27 I must laugh - and cry
I seriously don't know whether to laugh or cry .... apparently, Husni Mubarak (president of Egypt), is trying to decide whether or not he feels like running for a fifth six-year presidential elections... "I don't want to be hasty in taking the decision. By nature, I always study big decisions from all sides," the wise and pondering Mubarak said.* Mubarak is a very popular leader. As we all know, he recieved a 97% approval rate in the past elections, a percentage that not even Nelson Mandella, the most popular and loved President by his people ever received *sarcasm sarcasm* (Mandella only received a 70% - considered to be a very high number)...But dear old Husni Mubarak, he's just something else...I mean, his people absolutely love him, as shown by them giving him a 97% approval when they don't even vote..yep, Egypt has no public elections...does that surprise you that he approved himself (with the help of his own-installed parliament members) ? I should hope not...the people have nothing to do with him being in office. In fact, most probably would not experience too much grief if he suddenly....disappeared or something
Let's all go vote....democratically...*sigh* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Quote found in article from islamonline.com. The "wise and pondering" is mine.
April 26 Bush and Abdullah: The Best of Buds ! Awwwwwwwwwww aren't the two buddies cute together ?! Holding hands too "Abdullah, turn on the tap will ya? I'm losing my popularity coz people are having to pay too much for gas..help me out and just turn on the tap..." Ok Bush didn't really say that, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did... President Bush greets Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah at his ranch in Crawford, Texas Monday, April 25, 2005. President Bush is seeking relief from record-high gas prices and support for Middle East peace as he opens his Texas ranch to Abdullah. Saudi Arabia is the world's largest oil producer. (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert)
"Saudi Arabia has outlined a plan to increase production capacity to 12.5 million barrels a day by 2009 from the current 11 million limit. Saudi Arabia now pumps about 9.5 million barrels daily. If necessary, Saudi Arabia says it will eventually develop a capacity of 15 million barrels a day."
See, they're willing to do anything to stay in power..."sure, we'll exceed our maximum capacity of 11 million barrels a day if you promisey womisey to keep us in power"....(that's how I'm sensing the two speak to each other ....call me ridiculous, but who isn't ridiculous in the world of politics
